HARGRAVE RESERVE

Public BBQ

Stumbling upon Hargrave Reserve feels like discovering one of those rare suburban gems that actually delivers on its promises. The barbecue facilities anchor what can only be described as a delightfully comprehensive family package - though one does wonder why it took three separate reviews to confirm the toilets exist, as if this were some sort of miraculous amenity. The playground draws children like moths to flame, while parents hover near the barbecue areas with that peculiar mix of vigilance and resignation common to weekend family outings. What sets this place apart is the artificial turf cricket pitch dominating the oval's centre - a touch of suburban sophistication that transforms any gathering into a potential sporting event. Whether you're actually any good at cricket becomes somewhat irrelevant when faced with such an inviting wicket. The facilities manage that rare trick of being both practical and pleasant, with the toilets earning consistent praise from visitors who clearly appreciate life's simpler conveniences.
